MAT offers a flexibility to its applicants since it is available in two formats. Both offline and computer based facilities are there for a student’s perusal. The paper generally consists of five major sections unlike other MBA competitive exams namely language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis, intelligence and critical reasoning along with Indian and global environment. Candidates with their score can then apply to top b schools in India.
Boosting a history of more than 60 years XAT is a pan India MBA exam. There are in fact 70 plus management institutions who consider XAT for the admission criterion. The exams has three sections for which cut-offs are fixed separately. The sections are inclusive of verbal ability and logical reasoning, quantitative ability and data interpretation, analytical reasoning and decision making. Decision making is a newly introduced section. XAT in fact offeres admission to top MBA colleges and the credibility of which can be sensed by the fact that it is conducted in some 33 cities across the country.
There is also essay writing for the topic can range from economic to social paradigm and a pure general knowledge test which is a new addition to the existing pattern.
IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade)
It is one of the top b schools in India and was been set up by the government but works mainly as an autonomous organization aiming to work towards professionalizing the foreign trade management. It is a 120 minutes test consisting of objective questions. The exam pattern is more or less like other elite entrances with a special weightage and stress on General Knowledge segment of the paper. The applicants then shortlisted after the written exam are then called in for the group discussion and personal interview round.
